Clicquot powered to the lead in mid-stretch and held on against game challenges from Dry Powder and Ourdaydreaminggirl to win by a neck in the Grade 1, $1 million Cotillion Stakes, a 1 1/16-mile test for seven 3-year-old fillies at Parx.
Coming off 2 1/2 months on trainer Brendan Walsh’s bench, Clicquot (5-1) and jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. raced a close fifth up the backstretch while two-time Grade 1 winner La Cara (2-1) established pace-setting fractions of 23.73, 47.38 and 1:10.50.

Dry Powder (7-1), who had stalked closely in second, moved into first in the homestretch before Ortiz and Clicquot made their three-wide move to the lead. Ourdaydreaminggirl stormed down the middle of the track but was too late to catch Clicquot.

The final time was 1:42.85 after early fractions of 23.73, 47.38, 1:10.50 and 1:36.14 on the fast main track.
Clicquot returned $12.60, $6.60 and $4.80; Dry Powder $7.60 and $5.80; and Ourdaydreaminggirl $10.20. Scottish Lassie (8-5), the Coaching Club American Oaks (G1) winner who was the post-time favorite, finished fourth.
Owned by X-Men Racing IV, Madaket Stables and SF Racing, Clicquot is a Quality Road filly who finished sixth in her Gulfstream Park debut in March before winning a Keeneland maiden sprint, a Churchill Downs allowance race and the July 5 Indiana Oaks (G3).
