Tuesday works: 7 graded-stakes winners are on the tab

Banishing worked Tuesday morning for the third time since winning the Grade 2 Charles Town Classic on Aug. 22.

The 5-year-old gelding by Ghostzapper breezed three furlongs in 37.4 seconds at Churchill Training Center, second fastest of four at the distance.

Banishing has won two stakes in a row for trainer David Jacobson. Before the Charles Town Classic, he scored in the Jeff Hall Memorial at Ellis Park, and he won the Oaklawn Mile (G3) in March. His record this year is 9: 4-4-0.

Banishing was one of seven graded-stakes winners with published works Tuesday.

Banishing (Ghostzapper), a Grade 2 winner (2025 Charles Town Classic), worked three furlongs in 37.4 seconds at Churchill Training on Tuesday morning. It was the second fastest of four works at the distance. His previous work was four days ago going three furlongs at Churchill Training. In his last start he won the Charles Town Classic (G2) going 1 1/8 miles on the main track at Charles Town on Aug. 22 for trainer David Jacobson.

General Jim (Into Mischief), a Grade 2 winner (2023 Pat Day Mile), worked four furlongs in 49.2 seconds at Belmont Park on Tuesday morning. It was the seventh fastest of 38 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed fourth in the Bernard Baruch going 1 1/16 miles on the turf at Saratoga on Aug. 29 for trainer Shug McGaughey.

Gigante (Not This Time), a Grade 2 winner (2023 Secretariat), worked five furlongs in 1:01.4 at Ellis Park on Tuesday morning. It was the second fastest of three works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Ellis Park. In his last start he placed sixth in a handicap going one mile on the turf at Kentucky Downs on Aug. 31 for trainer Steve Asmussen.

Pipsy (Kodiac), a Grade 2 winner (2025 Intercontinental), worked four furlongs in 50.6 seconds at Churchill Downs on Tuesday morning. It was the 29th fastest of 33 works at the distance. This was her first work since her last race. In her last start she placed fifth in the Turf Sprint (G2) going six furlongs on the turf at Kentucky Downs on Aug. 30 for trainer Will Walden.

Touchuponastar (Star Guitar), a Grade 2 winner (2025 New Orleans Classic), worked four furlongs in 50.7 seconds at The Training Center At Copper Crowne on Tuesday morning. It was the eighth fastest of 32 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at The Training Center At Copper Crowne. In his last start he placed fifth in the Steve Sexton Mile (G3) going one mile on the main track at Lone Star Park on May 26 for trainer Jeff Delhomme.

Big Invasion (Declaration of War), a Grade 3 winner (2022 Quick Call), worked four furlongs in 50.0 seconds at Saratoga on Tuesday morning. It was the eighth fastest of 14 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed fifth in the Disco Partner going 5 1/2 furlongs on the turf at Saratoga on Aug. 31 for trainer Miguel Clement.

Whatchatalkinabout (Dialed In), a Grade 3 winner (2025 John A. Nerud), worked five furlongs in 1:00.6 at Keeneland on Tuesday morning. It was the slowest of three works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed second in an allowance race going six furlongs on the main track at Saratoga on Aug. 30 for trainer Wesley Ward.
