All these tracks switching to dirt over poly is just annoying and shows they're putting money over the horses safety which is a disgrace.

LAZMANNICK · I've been to your track, Lone Star, Exterminator. It was before the Breeders Cup. I loved the place. The only thing I find tragic about the BC there was the fact that Kitten's Joy was robbed in the BC Turf. Ghostzapper's win was incredible. · 4114 days ago
Exterminator · Ghostzapper broke the track record and ran the fastest BC Classic ever. More than one track record was broken that day, but that was because Texas racing doesn't usually have superstars. I remember being there when Real Quiet was upset in the Texas Mile, Game On Dude got his first graded win, Wise Dan's daddy got his first graded win, Fiftyshadesofgold's debut, and of course the Breeders' Cup. There is also a beautiful statue of Alysheba there. · 4114 days ago

I just saw on the Paulick Report that Keeneland is the favorite to get the Breeders Cup in 2015 and Del Mar in 2016! I like this although it will be tough for Keeneland to handle a Breeders Cup size crowd.

Is switching its Main Track to dirt. This will be the last meet run over Poly. They will keep their training track poly. Project is to start May 19th and be done sometime in Aug. Per DRF

poly has proven results to lower equine fatality but no on here cares about that aspect of horse racing

I looked at the pps in the daily racing form for opening day at Keeneland. 7 or 8 out of 10 races are WIDEOPEN. I usually can find a Single for a pic 3 or 4 but not friday. This is a really even matched card but thats why i love this place

I saw on the Paulick Report that Keeneland is trying to get the Breeders Cup, maybe even next year. I would love to see a Breeders Cup in Lexington!

My hub and I get to attend three days later this week. (Wed, Thursday, Friday). But it looks like it might rain at least one of those days. Whenever we have gone to Keeneland or Turfway we have always had good weather. So...does anyone have any tips in how to best handicap wet polytrack? I know that MDO has good mudders for dirt and Kitten's Joy has good performers on soft turf. Are these (or other) sires known for producing good wet polytrack runners?

The American Graded Stakes Committee has reinstated the grades of Saturday’s Shadwell Turf Mile (G1) and Sunday’s Bourbon (G3), which were moved to the main track because of the weather. There were no scratches in either race.

Because of unforeseen communication issues between United Tote, Keeneland’s tote provider, and the French hub, Keeneland will be unable to offer wagering on the race card from Longchamp on Sunday, Oct. 6, as previously announced. This card includes the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe (G1). Keeneland sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience to our racing patrons.
