Yay! Its that time of year again! We are off to the LA Derby today. It should be a good day with great races on the card. Looks like the rain may be done now, so the track should dry out and play fair. I'll post pics later.

We had a good day today! The weather was good, a bit windy, but good. The food and atmosphere was nice. And the racing was.. interesting! Some winners were a surprise :) I put together a photo collage and added a couple of "touristy" pix for those who have never been to New Orleans. We got pix of every horse in Races 2-12. Guests of Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots and fans of the Fair Grounds simulcast signal are reminded that there will be a special early post time of 12:30 p.m. for Saturday’s 13-race program on Louisiana Derby Preview Day Presented by Lamarque Ford. The expanded program will feature five stakes races – four of them graded – as well as a 50-cent All-Stakes Pick 4 on races 8-11.

Wagering declines has lead to FGs cutting 4 stakes races including the Tiffany Lass, Black Gold Stakes, and New Orlean Ladies and reducing purses on 12 others including the Fair Ground Oaks (gr ll) and the Mervin H. Muniz Jr. Memorial Handicap (gr ll).

What a fantastic day my family and I had today. All the races today offered excitement. I took a lot of photos. Including but not limited to Revolutionary (I have a crush), Mylute (Cocoa will LOVE some of these!), Graydar, Flatout, Flashy Gray, Unlimited Budget, Optimizer, Wilcox Inn... Steve Asmussen, and Javier Castellano. It was a day I'll soon not forget.

I want to purchase the the Deluxe P.P (drf.com) for the LeComte S. day at Fair grounds. I had no luck handicapping the bull ring of Delta downs on Delta downs stakes day. Can someone tell me the difference between the track configuration of Delta downs and Fair grounds?
