Starting in the 2014 season, jokcey Christophe Soumillon will once again become the Aga Khan's top stable jockey replacing Christophe Lemaire, announced today via the European racing media. Soumillon rode for the Aga Khan before from 2002-2009, winning the G1 Prix De l'Arc de Triomphe for the Aga Khan twice on Dalakhani in 2003 and Zarkava in 2008.

Jockey Christophe Soumillon was slapped with a 15 day suspension, and will miss riding in the G1 Prix De l' Arc De Triomphe. The stewards at Longchamp deemed that it was Soumillon's fault that horse named Arrivederia fell in the final race of Sunday's card at Longchamp. Soumillon had been retained for Ballydoyle and rode St Nicholas Abbey in the Prix Foy and Wonder of Wonders for them in the Prix Vermeille on Sunday. I wonder who Ballydoyle will look to now to ride St Nicholas Abbey in the Arc with Soumillon setting out because of this suspension?
