Euro,Jonquil or any other of the overseas posters . I have always been curious in regards to the past performance forms towards the Euro race game . In the U.S. whenever a horse runs here,they never detail their running line for races. They show a classs/speed figure and show the 3 horses that ran in the money. It is followed by a comment towards their race. This is very difficult to gauge their abilities. One of the reasons i usually avoid playing them. Unfortunately i have gotten burned on many occassions. Usually now i will just add them to my ticket just as an insurance policy. How does your form or Tele look over the pond. Hopefully it is in a more detailed manner.

Euro and Jon,hope all is well.i was given a horse to keep an eye on .his name is superboot and trained by michael wigham. are you familiar with him.do you know if he is scheduled to run soon? also jonquil,please do not forget to post when that filly runs,the firster you liked who ran a buried race.

paul nathan my friend. euro i believe is still away. i was told about a couple of 2 year olds on your side of the pond.he person who alerted me to these horse has a keen eye.he will go nameless. the 2 are Gender A genda and Mount Logan. What can you tell me about them. As i told euro, i am establishing a data base for foreign horses to follow.Maybe get a head start on potential Breeders Cup shippers. thanks

Well, I'm hoping that Al Kazeem, Treve, and some of the others get pushed up, but Orfevre's still in an ok spot. It's still some time before the arc, so it's still uncertain which horses will run in it. · 4442 days ago

I dont mean ALL british racing im just talking about Royal Ascot. Im not upset about Animal Kingdom loosing. British Racing is just confusing. They go straight, The horses numbers are the same colors, and the trainers enter about six horses each in all the races. American racing is better, especially new york racing.

jonquil · I'm from Louisiana (not much racing culture here), but I've been following European, particularly British racing, for over 5 years now. It can still get confusing watching the horses racing with so many horses in some races and the different silk colors/multiple horses per trainer which usually forces one horse's jockey to wear a different colored cap, but a good bit of the time I'm still able to keep up at least some! :) Although I must say I do agree with the dislike for multiple horses from one trainer per race, too! Not for identification reasons, though. More like it just hasn't ever felt right to me to see a field mostly made up by 1 or 2 trainers and the rest just being a ragtag bunch from smaller, individual trainers or less successful trainers. I always end up rooting for the smaller guys anyways. · 4453 days ago

travel_vic · Britain lagged behind in NORTH AMERICAN innovations since they did not have a photo finish until after the war and use of the autmatic gate lagged until the 50's. Universal saddle cloth codiing my never transfer. They have enough differences in their courses to really make a study of horses for courses worthwhile....Without fractional timing however, I will leave the capping to someone else. · 4458 days ago

Royal Ascot Day 3: G1 5 of 7 is the 2 mile Gold Cup, a true test of "stayers". Fame and Glory returns hoping to become a multi-winner here, like his stable mate, the truly great Yeats (4x winner). Heavy rain forecast gives me pause for concern, so more fame and glory for team O'Brien fi the going is good to soft. If conditions soft to heavy, I look to Saddler's Rock. With Opinion Poll there to round it out. As an appetizer, the G2 Ribblesdale Stakes features 3 yr old fillies going 1 1/4. I look to Vow to provide a mild upset over The Fugue, improving over her 4th last out. Momentary will be right there. Wonderfully talented 3 yr olds here!

Royal Ascot Day 2: G1 4 of 7 is the Prince of Wales' Stakes featuring 4 yr+ going a 1 1/4. With the defection of Cirrus Des Aigles, you would think So You Think has this race wrapped up. He will face stiff challenges from Charlton House and Farhh, maybe Planteur if he's feeling the soft turf. However, I think So You Think will cross first-if his last win is any indication, and I believe it is. But wait, don't turn that dial after the POW, the 2 yr.old fillies will have a go, 27 of them, in the 5 fl Queen Mary Stakes (G2). As we saw Dawn Approach turn in a spectacular perfomance, I think there are a few here who can do the same, the speedy Ceiling Kitty, breaks from a good barrier and hopefully survives the calvary charge, followed by the Jubilees-Bailey's and Diamond. What do you think?

Royal Ascot Day 1: Seven G1s and three of them in a row kick the meeting off with a bang! Here are my choices. How about yours? Queen Anne Stakes at 1 mile: Frankel, Excelebration, Helmut. Hard to argue the first two; Helmut is a personal favorite who I hope will replicate his success in Australia. King's Stand, 5 furlongs, 23 horses -- need I say more? Ortensia will continue the Australian domination here, Bated Breath (who may withdraw depending on turf conditions--currently looks to be good-soft). After Sole Power drew wide (23), I tossed. Kinda on the fence with Hong Kong raider Joy and Fun and French raider Wizz Kid, both drew wide (16, 15 barriers) so I will round out with the other Hong Kong raider, the consistent Little Bridge. Next, the 1 mile St. James Palace Stakes: Power, especially since main competition drew poorly. Hermival and Dragon Pulse round out my choices. The Coventry is a G2, but there is plenty of wow factor in this 2 year old crop going 6 furlongs. I thought it would be a showdown between Britain's numero uno Sir Prancealot (best named colt) and Ireland's numero uno, Dawn Approach. But Sir P drew horribly (and I am bitterly disappointed) at barrier 21. So look for the numero dos from Ireland Christoforo Columbo next followed by Lines of Battle for an all -rish sweep. That's Day 1 for me! And I can't wait! Dang though, still cursing Sit Prancealot's draw. May they all come home safe to race another day.
